Visual Arts

Beginning in first grade, students are introduced to an expansive art curriculum that focuses on establishing basic art skills and fostering creative expression. Students are presented with the intricacies of art history, art literacy and criticism, and art production while sharpening their understanding of line, shape, form, and color by working with two-dimensional and three-dimensional media. In the Upper School, students are challenged to demonstrate an advanced understanding of the elements and principles of design and create more complex works of art in various disciplines.
