Eleven LFCDS Upper School students took the podium for the Robbie Bermingham Speaking Contest on Wednesday, April 25. The finalists include (first row, left to right) Connor Pan, Zack Barker, Lowell Weil, Ross Reid-Anderson, Alessandro Raganelli, Ben Dixon, and Tim Sperling. (Second row, left to right), Joyce Caldwell, Lilly Reyes, Julia Dixon, and Sophia Platcow. The contest's first-place award was presented to eighth-grade student Joyce Caldwell for her speech on "Intercultural Understanding." Second place was awarded to eighth-grade student Alessandro Raganelli for his "Leadership" speech, and the third-place award was given to eighth-grade students Lilly Reyes and Ben Dixon for respective speeches on "Overcaffenation" and "The Meaning of Life." LFCDS sixth-grade student and Lake of the Woods camper Heather Knobel will be presented with the Caring Camper Award on behalf of SCOPE (Summer Camp Opportunities Provide an Edge) at their 5th annual fundraiser on Saturday, April 14 at 7:30 pm at the Westin North Shore in Wheeling.
